The good, the bad and the ugly of home remodeling
Video or slide show COMING SOON! See the posts and slide shows below for a sneak preview!
Water in crawlspace
The contractor decided not to grade the yard so that the water would run away from the house... in the meanwhile down in the crawlspace water is building up. Yes, that's a beam sitting in all that water. My ice cold floors are also reminders that there is not any insulation underneath the flooring... nor is there a vapor barrier to mitigate the "moisture." I don't get it.
New foundation
The new foundation is not square with the new addition... the walls are supported by wood.
Collateral Damage
Last fall I got an addition put on my home and had some remodeling work done... I didn't sign up for the unintended consequences. The contractors threw my laundry outside and just left it there... the Pendleton chairs I personally upholstered were used as work chairs... along with my desk chair and bar stools... my dining room table was used as a work bench, but luckily I was able to clean it and it survived... my nice entry door looks like it was stabbed three times... like what's that all about? Dang... can't have nothing nice...
