Paper or Plastic?

My horoscope for this week says I am supposed to "meditate every day on the following lines of poetry by L. S. Asekoff: "There's a hole/ in my left shoe/ stuffed with a page/ of Aristotle's Essay/ on Morals/ which contains/ a grammatical error/ in the first line." Every secret you need to discover in the coming week can be obtained by holding that image in your mind's eye and letting it work its magic on you. Clues to your biggest question can be found in the same way."

Of course, the first thing that comes to my simple mind is what in the hell am I doing running around with a hole in my shoe? It seems to me like I should wear another pair of damn shoes. Either that or go shopping... the only question that remains is paper or plastic?

Pointed Hearts

The other day I had a meeting with a couple of graphics artists. Our tribal website is in drastic need of change. As I was telling them what I was looking for in a new look and feel one of them asked me what we were known for. Was it our beadwork? Our art? Our traditional dancing? If it were only that simple....

Yes, we probably have people in our ranks who are known for things like that, but the thing that sticks in my mind is the name we have been known by since contact... Coeur d'Alene. We are called that for a reason.... they say we were shrewd business people... sharp hearts...pointed hearts... whatever.

Anyways, I have to laugh when I think of that because of the way I am when I'm conducting business.... I'm not exactly a very nice person. I usually have very high expectations and have no problems letting people know when they are not fulfilling their end of the deal. Just this week alone I probably pissed off about five people: a contractor who keeps missing deadlines on a $500,000 project; a vendor who didn't complete a $62,000 order; another vendor who keeps sending my invoices to another dept; and on and on....

I'm sure they are all hatin' on me right now. But I've never been one to care if people hate me... I hope they at least love hating me.... in the meanwhile, all I want is for our orders to be complete, on time, and to our satisfaction.... am I high? Is that so wrong? Isn't that what good customer service is supposed to be about anyway?
