Wonderland

"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"

"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.

"I don't much care where-" said Alice.

"Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat.

"-so long as I get somewhere," Alice added as an explanation.

"Oh, you're sure to do that," said the Cat, "if you only walk long enough."

-Alice in Wonderland

It's been 16 weeks, 4 days, 8 hours, and 55 minutes since I made my way to the blog front. I can't even begin to fill in the blanks of the events that have taken place in my life since then. All I can say is me and my emotions have been all over the map... sometimes I feel like Alice in Wonderland... except I don't even have a Cheschire Cat to issue out bad advice.

Today one of my friends kindly noticed - out loud - that I "looked like hell." I didn't thank him for sharing, even though I knew it was the truth.

I just don't get it. I try to start off my days right... plenty of rest, the right coffee, right food, right people, oh yeah, and wash and wear clothes (cuz I hate ironing)...

But then I end up with days like today...It started off with what seemed like a simple phone call. You know the kind - when someone is having a problem and it's the end of the business day. Anyway, it didn't seem like it was a big deal. Three
phone lines were down. A simple call to our local provider should have taken care of it.

Well, after one phone call to the VIP Support Center and several transfers later it turned out that our provider had an order to cancel not 3 (three) but seventy-eight (78!) of our business lines today. Needless to say, my plans for a nice short
business day turned into an all-evening ordeal as I talked to every account rep under the sun to share my pain.

In the interest of time, space, and depleted energy I will spare you the details... but the short story ends like this - our provider is going to 'try' to stop the rest of the order on the other 75 lines. BUT if they can't do it by tomorrow morning
we will have to place orders for new service for each line, and it 'may' take 10 or more business days to get the service restored. Any lucky guesses on how my day will go tomorrow?

Anyways, unless anyone can offer any bad advice or a Cheschire Cat for a witness, it looks like the only thing I can do is pick a path... start walking... and hope I end up somewhere I want to be. Oh yeah... I guess I should also start with the plenty of rest part, too. Tomorrow could be another lonnggggg dayyyyyy.
