Native American Freedom

In the eighteen hundreds of the Indian Wars
To the 1950's-60's of the Hollywood stereotype western movies
and the prejudice years
To the 1971-1976 A.I.M. years
of fighting for equal rights for
the Native American
Dominant society - U.S.A. had a belief:
"The Only Good Indian is a Dead Indian"
This belief has changed through the years.
Now in the 90's and 2000 years
Dominant society - U.S.A. has the belief:
"The Only Good Indian is a Poor Indian"
for it is their belief that if you
keep the Indian poor they will always
be subservient to dominant society - U.S.A.
and powerless to help themselves.
However, if you allow the Native American
to prosper through their "smoke shops,"
their bingo halls and casinos they will gain
economic and financial power and eventual
freedom from dominant society - U.S.A.
The Native American will have the financial power
to dictate to dominant society - U.S.A.
What is right and just for their people.
